BetCRIS |
| Short Description |
: |
One of the top books on the net, BetCRIS provides professional action and an abundance of betting options for the wagering public. Although they are based in Costa Rica - which for some the very words cause bettors to wet their pants - BetCRIS has established a reputation as having top-of-the-line security and customer service. The site navigation is easier than a dime store prostitute and they even offer wireless wagering. |

BetCRIS Professional Review |
| By Kris Takahashi |
|
The Look
Rather than go with the typical random sports figure, BetCRIS seems to have ripped off the Penn State logo. The overall look of the site is a deliberate injection of patriotic colors and I thought perhaps that BetCRIS is in bed with the Bushes; which leads one to ask, "Is Costa Rica part of the coalition?"
One aspect that immediately struck me as odd is that rather than give the user the option of creating their own username, the site assigns a special eight character ID consisting of numbers, letters and a book on how to improve your memory so you can remember useless strings of numbers. In any case, after trying desperately to remember my username and slamming my laptop to the ground in a fit of rage, I found that the "Forgot Your Username?" link has instantly become my best friend.
Deposits/Withdrawals
Both deposit and withdrawal options include Visa/Mastercard, NETeller, Moneybookers, Check by Phone, Money Transfer, Firepay - you get the point. If you have trouble depositing, you're basically a moron and you probably can't read anyway.
Wagering
The navigation is a thing a beauty. Easy to use columns on top for bet type, a window underneath for the lines. The betting options are fairly diverse. You have the standard parlays and teaser, but in addition there are round robin, reverse bets, double reverse cowgirl bets (okay, i made that last one up). There are also office pools, where payouts can get up in the thousands. Not sure if such pools come with the excessive micro-management and a company kiss ass. Plus, the fonts are so big you can read them from outer space.
Player Reviews/Forums
Users give the site mixed reviews. A few people have problems with the lines and juice, although I found nothing out of the ordinary. Others praise the speed and money lines for higher spreads. What does it all mean? It depends what you value more. You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to, let's call the whole thing off...
Customer Service
They've got the live help, the toll free number, the friendly people on the phone. What more can you ask for? A rum and coke and chili cheese fries? Now that would be some customer service.
Bonuses and Extras
10% if you deposit by check, 20% into a match-play account. There is a catch in that you have to notify the book of the bonus, but for the most part they deposit the extra cash fairly elsewhere -- unless the pound becomes worth a thousand times the value of the dollar.
Wireless wagering is also available, for the compulsive gambler who just has to put down that Giants/Patriots 2nd half parlay even though his only son's about to kiss the bride.
Verdict
I like this site. I really do. There's nothing wrong with it. It's reliable, good navigation, decent action; it's Jennifer Aniston, if Jennifer Aniston was named BetCRIS and took bets for a living. If you can't tell, I've run out of things to say on this matter.
